Smoky Serrano Mezcal Margarita

A Toast to Tradition

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Mezcalum Espadin or Cuishe Mezcal
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • ¾ oz agave syrup
  • 2-3 thin slices of serrano pepper (adjust to your spice preference)
  • Lime wedge and serrano slice for garnish
  • Salt or chili-lime salt for rim (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Rim (Optional): If desired, rim your margarita glass with salt or chili-lime salt. Run a lime wedge around the rim and dip it into the salt.
  2. Muddle the Serrano: In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the serrano pepper slices with the agave syrup.
  3. Add the Liquids: Pour in the Mezcalum Espadin or Cuishe Mezcal and fresh lime juice.
  4. Add Ice: Fill the shaker with ice.
  5. Shake Vigorously: Shake well for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is well chilled.
  6. Strain and Serve: Strain the margarita into your prepared glass filled with ice.

Garnish: Garnish with a lime wedge and a thin slice of serrano pepper.
